Ghazal!
pete nahin sharaab kisi zer khareed ki
jab jab bhi ham ne pi he nazar se kasheed ki!

Aabe hayat he tere aankhoon se mooj zan
he tishnagi baja tere tishna e deed ki!

haan baske us haseen ka jeta gaya na dil
kaawish hazaar laakh ki, kooshish shadeed ki!

barhne laga khumaar tere guftugo ke saath
saaqi ne tool e suhbat e shab ki umeed ki

pete bhi jaa rahe the mager tishna kaam the
charoon taraf sadaen thein hal min mazeed ki

kal mae kade main shoor o shaghab tha urooj per
masjid se gerche sheikh ne doozakh waeed ki!

khali hua na jaam tere mae kashoon ka aaj
peer e mughaa.N ne laaj rakhi her mureed ki

her aankh muntazir the waa.N saaqi ki deed ki
charoon taraf sadaen thein hal min mazeed ki

Hal min mazeed= give us more, hamain aur do!
peer e mughaa.N = the owner of pub

tishna kaam= thirsty, pyaasa
