Ghazal inspired from a ghazal by Wali Mohammed Wali. I shall also be posting the same ghazal in English tomorrow.

MERI PRASTISH

Yaad kartaa hoon main,   apne yaar ko
Jis ne bakhshi,  shafaa apne bimaar ko

Aarzoo-e-chashma kausar nahin koi
Tashnaa lab hoon, sharbat deedaar ko

Hashar kyaa hogaa jo hogaa so hogaa
Dil huaa hai mubtalaa..... dil-e-daar ko

Dil mein bas ek hee yaad palapti hai
Harf harf uss.ke, makhzan-e-israar ko

Agar tu chaahe ke ussi kaa ho jaaye
Bhool naa ussey.... subha-o-zunaar ko

Dur nahin hai manzil aansu bahaa le
Dekh... rutbaa-e-deedaa-e-deedaar ko

Unhi pe jeenaa marnaa hai agar wali
Madah hai..... chashm-e-gohar baar ko

Surindar. N             "MohaN"

Aarzoo = wish; Tashnaa lab = thirsty lips
Chashma kausar = fabled heavenly spring
Deedaar= to see; Mubtlaa = busy;
Dil-e-daar = beloved; Palapti = springs;
Harf harf = every word;
Makhzan = springing point; Israar = zid
Zunaar = worshiping wearing a sacred
Thread; Rutbaa = status;
Deedaa-e-deedaar kaa = wakeful eye;
Madah hai chashm-e-gohar baar ko =
Is the ultimate goal of my streaming eyes;
