ek din huyi mulaqat ek ajnabi se
'hi' bolete haal puchte the shuru shuru me
dheere dheere badhi dosti kuch aise

na samay ka pata na kisi ka khayal
baton me kho jate the kuch aise
phir bhi bye bolete the badi mushkil se

jab wo bola us se pyar hai kisi se
dost hai wo phir dil kyun udaas
jawab na mila jab sawaal ki khud se

chah ke bhi main khud ko samjha na payi
dil me dard kis liye hai samajh na payi
jab faisla ki nahi milungi aaj ke baad ab se

bola wo na do saza na mil ke mujh se
raha nahi jata bin baat kiye tumse
jab mili hairan reh gayi yeh sunke us se

kuch pal dur huyi tadap utha kyun wo
yeh rishta kya hai kya naam dun isko
agar pata hai to batao sawaal ki usse

jise pyar samjhta tha wo nahi tha pyar
shayad yehi hai pyar samajh na paye the hum
hume pata bhi na chala tha ho gaya kab kaise...
