ज़ब्त लिखता न मरहला लिखता।
काश मैं खत कोई खुला लिखता।

सारे मिसरे तवाफ़ करते फ़क़त,
नाम शेरों में जब तेरा लिखता।  

शाम आती मेरी ग़ज़ल बनकर,
तुमसे जब अपना राब्ता लिखता।

रस्में उल्फ़त 'अदब' बयाँ होती,
तुमको गर अपना आईना लिखता।
