IPv6 protocol information needed !!

Hi,
Can anyone give some information about IPv6 protocol. I have heard a lot about it but don't know wht is it actuall.
Not necessary to go in detail, I only need little information about it.

IPv6 is newer version of internet protocal named IPv4 which are using these days on the internet. It is supposed that IPv6 will gradually replace the IPv4 protocol.

man.. I have only read those stuff.. infact that type of connectivity is very fast but it is also very very costly !! still thinking for laser beem ?
