Please help its urgent

i have a computer with pIII 500 mhz processor and 64mb ram i want to upgrade my ram whether i should upgrade it to 128 or 256mb and i have purchased my computer in year 2000 so how i know whether i have a slot for sdr ram or ddr ram secondaly is it ok to upgrade my computer !!! will it work properly ?    and wht is the cheapest rate available for 256 mb ram in india !!!! and 80 gb harddisk         please help

First of all your machine is a P3 and 500 mhz supported system this would have a SDR ram 4 sure and will not support any SATA / (7200 rpm) Hdd, so better to get a new machine..

Rate for SDR = 256 MB Ram card (128 * 2) would be nearly about 3200 plus taxes (VAT 4%) and availability in market 5 %!!!

Rate for DDR = 256 MB Ram Card (256 * 1 ) = Varies from Quality to Quality 1150 – 1450 plus taxes.


80 GB HDD (7200 rpm) : 2,475/-

80 GB HDD (SATA) : 2900 /-

120 GB HDD (SATA) : 3800 /- {plus taxes varies from state to state, its 4% VAT in west Bengal)

I may not be apparent, i hav just shared an experience, because even i hav survived in the same type of condition..
