In present times, inter caste, inter religion, and even beyond national boundaries, marriages are taking place. Unfortunately, you are living in a place where these factors play a very important role in the society. The same applies with your discussion on quota system also. In your part of the country politics is run on the basis of these factors.

Caste, religion, etc. all these are irrelevant in modern society. Just to give you few examples.

Indira Gandhi married Feroze Gandhi
Rajiv Gandhi married Sonia Gandhi
Sanjay Gandhi married Maneka Gandhi

Sunil Dutt married Nargis
Shah Rukh Khan married Gauri
Aamir Khan married Reena
Aamir Khan married Kiran Rao
Arbaaz Khan married Malaika Arora

Now you will say these are all celebrities. No, this is just to show that these things are happening from long time.

Shah Rukh and Aamir were not celebrities when they got married to their respective wives.

Similarly in normal life also inter caste and inter religion marriages are taking place and are quite prominent now. :D

If you want i can keep quoting examples. In today's world, parents are listening to boys and girls opinion. Times are changing and for better.
