Gopis Of Gokul cried Kanha after their work was done
You were eight when you left still they pined for you
They all wished your welfare although far from you!

Today is your birthday Kanha but please remember them
Nanda Yasoda Radhe Gopis and all your childhood friends
Madhurya Leela was no where to be found except at Vrindavan
Everywhere there was Aiswarya around you but not at Nidhivan!

Sweeter than the sweetest were the times you spent with them
Stealing butter from the Gopis and distributing it to friends
When Yasoda tied you with a rope so that you can't roam free
Narada cried tears of joy seeing Lord tied by love to a tree!

Kaliya Naaga you did not kill when his wives prayed to you
You danced on his hood instead and came out victorious true
Because of Indra's wrath held Govardhana on your tiny finger
Saved the Gopas and the Gopis for they had no other shelter!

On this birthday I ask you to look after all your children
Faith is almost gone from earth and ideas are all mistaken
Kanha Dearest I cry out to you please show us the path true
For the Gita only a few read, please show us a MIRACLE true!
