dil kii big.Dii hu.ii tasviir pe ronaa aayaa

ishq kii qaid me.n ab tak to ummiido.n pe jiye
miT ga.ii aas to zanjiir pe ronaa aayaa

kyaa hasii.n KHvaab mohabbat ne dikhaayaa thaa hame.n
khul ga.ii aa.nkh to taabiir pe ronaa aayaa

pahle qaasid kii nazar dekh ke dil saham gayaa
phir tirii surKHi-e-tahriir pe ronaa aayaa

dil ga.nvaa kar bhii mohabbat ke maze mil na sake
apnii kho.ii hu.ii taqdiir pe ronaa aayaa

kitne masruur the jiine kii du.aa.o.n pe 'shakiil'
jab mile ranj to taasiir pe ronaa aayaa
