Hi evry1, was jus thinkin if its possible to dedicate this post to Shabd (words). By this i mean that we post words that we do not know or are ambiguous and if any1 els knws they will let uno...

For example, i was lisenin to Jagjit Singh, 'koi dost hain naa raqeeb/raqib/rakeeb hain' and i dint knw wt Raqib meant so sum1 told me it means Enemy.

Hope people will post and reply on here...to start it off does ne1 knw wt:

dariicha,kuccha and laalaakaar is?

Darricha and Kucha means front yard, ghar ke baher wali jagah, jo ghar ka hissa hoti hai.

Dariicha and Koocha are Urdu words..I have nt heard Laalaakaar word before..i only know Lalkaar !!

Dariicha and Kuchaa are words having different meaning.

Dariicha means Window / Khidki

Kuchaa means A narrow space, a corner..... it can be anywhere, in house or in a street or in a park..anywhere.

I knw Lalkaar too Talat Bhai, but laalaakaar is a urdu/persian word too, if u do cum across the meaning i wud b gr8ful if u cud leme knw, Ty once agen.

TalatJi maaf kijiyega, main bohat sharminda hoon, kyun ki mere dost ka naam Talat hain aur woh ek ladka hain isiliye galti hogayi. Ji shamaa chahta hoon, im rely v embarrased :oops: Sorry!

wel its actualy Jaal (webs) but i wnted to emphasise the sound of the way it shud be said. Jaal in this quote refers to problems of the Heart/entanglement of the Heart as it is taken from the movie Devdas, where he suffers high levels of pain.

Shah Rukh Khan quotes this to Jackie Shroff near da end when they last meet on the train.

Parastish is right....its Ibaadat....!

I dont know about Mehmash...tried asked a few people having urdu knowledge...but they also could nt tell.

I know Mahwash...that means a face as beautiful as moon...'Mah' or 'Meh' word is used for moon...so dont know what is exactly Mahmash...I hope its not being misunderstood with Mahwash !!

TalatJi, Thank You for putting light into our knowledge, as it is, none of us know what mehmash is bt hope it is mehwash. It dus soun ryt bcoz it fits in qyt wel wiv da lines put forward by AnkurJi!
