I am an american student and I am going to Kerala next year. I also have a huge interest in southeast asian culture. I am working on  an English degree so I can go to India or Thailand and teach English. I am interested in networking with people or becoming penpals. I like poetry also, unfortunately I will not be able to understand the Hindi ones. Until I go to Kerala next year and study it...
Incidentally, I found this website looking for the meaning of dekhai hai. I thought it meant "dream" but I guess that is what sapna means. Maybe someone can help me?  Thanks.

So "sapna dekhai hai" means I have seen a dream?
I hear these words in a lot of songs, so I was wondering...

Thank you, anyone can email me if you want. I want to talk to people in India. I am doing a minor in Southeast Asian studies because I just love it so much. I visited Thailand in 2001 and I totally fell in love. I was only 18 then, and my interest in other countries was pretty limited. But now I am so interested in India as well. I am taking lessons in Bharatanatyam and that is what I will study when I go to Kerala, also Hindi. I am trying to cook a little too. I made ghee, I thought that would be a good start, I am going to try and make paneer and then basmati rice. I think there must be some trick to making the rice so aromatic and some restaurants put herbs in it. Then I will try to make more complicated stuff, I like that dish with the mashed eggplants and onions and peas in it, I don't remember what it is called. I have a friend that might get me a job at an Indian restaurant here in Seattle and I think I may be able to pick up a few things.
I'm also going to take thai classes this summer and I can cook some thai food.
I am going to live in asia when I graduate college, I am not sure if I am goingt o India or Thailand, or maybe even Nepal.
I know this is a poetry website, but I am glad there is a general forum where I can talk about things like this. I can't read most of the poetry because it is not in English, I just stumbled across this page while I was looking for the meaning of dekhai hai

hi seattlite.

he was saying that  he took the name of a yoindia member wrongly.
the name was dhadkan means heart beat.
& he took it as dhakkan means cap of bottle.
