She sits alone in her lonely dwelling,
Dwelling upon her bygone days
In somber solitude quietly musing
A wan smile lingering over her face

Reminiscing fondly she looks all around
For some remnant of her glorious past
Ah! A tiny colourful ball on the ground
Lying snug, her little son had playfully cast

She peers over the photographs early
Nostalgic reminders wet her carving
Each moment etched in her mind fully
Fills her with an intense longing

Reigning supreme for thirty long years
With tender care, did she her children tend
And to assuage, day-to-day unfounded fears
Ever beside her, a supportive, doting husband

Her home vibrated once with the constant chatter
Of little ones and their lively mischievous gaiety
Or like monkeys, their excited innocent jabber
Their voices still echo, her nest dreadfully empty

Parted ways, one by one, all she held so dear
Remembering them, she weeps, in acute agony
A family of ten did she so lovingly rear
Bereft of family, in twilight years, a bitter irony  sad10

jo khushi nahi mili uske gam behisaabthey..

hum ek hi baat main chupe kayi hijaab they...

Simply beautiful....things expressed so simply....impressive..........
Roja...I am here after a long time to share my thoughts ....Poetry is my life though......Each time we pen our thoughts our heart and mind is on display.....May my deep love for language be evident and satisfying or may be your mind to reject the sentiments generated....your captioned poem is the zist of your heart.. a lovely bunch of words... Excellent, I really enjoyed this ....a  presentation of your mind about the subject......through your pen which is enormously bleeding blew......
