Your touch: has left my veins to fire!
   My elements: have turned to a pyre!

It was something, like, hardest rum:
That enters throat and pierces fast!
It was something, like storming hail:
That comes and freezes stretches vast!
          What burned so hot?
   What chilled so cold?
      I can’t say; what it was for sure?
      - For, I was not exposed before!
It was to me, stranger entire!
      My elements: have turned to a pyre!

First, I ventured at some self-help:
But nosed-down merely, like a whelp!
God! What all this, that eats me out?
My throat was choked, and rocked about!
   I failed to call:
   Midst that enthrall!
   My experiences failed, athwart!!
   I failed to play an active part!!
 I’m self-compelled, but, to admire!
           Your touch: has left my veins to fire!

Plodding to-an’-fro, I stumbled oft!
Unknowingly, I rumbled oft!
Could not find any comfort, yet:
With mind in circles, bundled oft!
   I failed to live!
   I failed to die!
   And, life went-on, quite unconcerned;
   Though, some thing iced; and, something burned!!
It makes me stir: it makes me tire!
      Your touch: has left my veins to fire!
