Kam sey kam aaj phir muskuraaye to ho!
Ab tah-e-jaw sey kuchh paas aaye to ho!!

Ghat rahee hai wo dooree: yahee kam nahin;
Zad mein aakhir nigaahoun kee aaye to ho!!

Hai khizaan, baag mein zardiyaan hain rawaan:
Bululoun kaa tarannum bachaaye to ho!!

Gul naheen hain kaheen bhi: magar, shukra hai,
Geysuoun ko guloun sey sajaaye to ho!!

Phusphusaatee hai kuchh ab hawaa magribee:
Waadiyoun mein mahak sarsaraaye to ho!!

Hon, na hon, ab tumhaarey tasawwur mein ham:
Kuchh bhi ho, par, kaheen dil lagaaye to ho!

Deykhtaa huun pighaltaa-saa chashmoun mein kuchh!
Dil mein khwaaboun ki duniyaa basaaye to ho!!

Shab sitaaroun bharee, hai chhupaaye shfaq;
Pairahan mein bahaareyn chhupaaye to ho!!

Aa rahaa hai nikal kuchh laboun par, 'abd',
Beysadaa hi sahee, budbudaaye to ho!!
