Check Your Sun Sign

Western astrology has generalised the sun-signs of all the people of the world according to calculations valid in a particular part of the world only. That is all wrong.

A few months ago, i was seeing my Kundli and to my surprise found that the position of the sun is in a sign  previous to that of my sun-sign according to the western concept. I could not understand it. Then i thought about this contradiction for a few-days and with the grace of Gurudev, got the solution.

Actually, position of planets is a relative thing. It differs at different places. For example, if you are standing in front of your house, you can see it fully but if you are at 45 degress, then you won't be able to get the full view. When its summer in Southern hemisphere, its winter in Northern hemisphere and vice-versa.

Similarly, in some countries, sun appears to move from one sign to another around 22-24 of the month whereas the same transition according to India's position on the planet takes place around 13-15 of the next month. The day on which sun moves from one sign to another is called Sankranti.

Hence, sun sign of someone born in India on the 1st of January is not Capricon but Saggitarius.
