हमारा बज़्मे हसद में घुटता है दम फ़ज़ा में है बरहमी सी
चलो, चलें उस चमन की जानिब, जहां हमें ताज़गी मिलेगी
जहाने फ़ानी में रस्मे-उल्फ़त का ख़्वाब लेकर 'रक़ीब' आया...
नहीं पता था, नहीं ख़बर थी, यहाँ भी बेगानगी मिलेगी

chalo, chalen us chaman ki janib, jahaan hame taazgi milegi
jahane faani men rasme ulfat ka khwab lekar 'Raqeeb' aaya
naheen pata tha nahheen khabar thi, yahaan bhi begangi milegi
