Ashkon se girkar boondein chehre par jamm gayee,
jeene ki kashmakash mein zindagi hi thamm gayee.

Bahut talaasha sukoon magar kuchh haasil na hua mujhe,
is kaawish e sukoon mein gham se zindagi ramm gayee.

Ek zarra hoon main aftaab ki khawish kaise karun,
haqeeqat ko pehchanta hoon aankh isliye hi namm gayee.

Phir bhi thokar na mujhe lagayie aakhir insaan hoon main,
haath thaam le 'faqeer' ka ye zindagi ab kamm gayee.
