Dil-e-zaar ko phir dard-e-nafas(1) aa hi gaya..
Pur'afsaa.N(2) parinda sar-e-qafas(3) aa hi gaya..

Jafaa'ju(4) wo tha to hum bhi nahin the kam,
Is shiddat se roye, use taras aa hi gaya..

Kalaam(5) ko choomkar poora kar diya tune,
Tere uns(6) se, ghazal mein ras aa hi gaya..

Ik salaam kar lun Ae malaq-ul-maut(7) tu chal!
Main yaar se milkar ke bas aa hi gya..
