Yaklakhat dhuan utha hai dil se,
Ik pulinda tha yaadon ka, jal utha shayad.

Lagi thi aag kal, kuchh dur mere ghar se,
Aaj mera ghar bhi us se, ghir gaya shayad.

Charon taraf hai mayusi, har su hai khamoshi,
Meri yaadon ka sahara bhi, ab mar gaya shayad.

आपके इस कलाम की तारिफ़ करने इस गरीब के पास शब्द नही। इस राउ में बिल्कुल यकीन नही करता पर अगर सरहाने का यही तरिका है तो जनाब दिली दाद के साथ एक राउ भी
जाते जाते आपकी इजाजत लेते हुए यही कहुंगा
लिखा जो कुछ आपने युं दिल से
रुला गया बज्म को शायद
