mohhobat ke dariya me jo kashti chalaayi thi,
us be reham sangdil ne aansu me dubaayi thi,

kitna guroor tha usko apne husan e shawaab ka,
yuh karke fareb usne apni aukaat dikhaayi thi,

uske pyaar ke sare daave hum samgh gaye they,
uski ghuthi muskaan jab humko nazar aayi thi,

ab pata laga woh mere khilaaf apne dil me koi
 ranjish lekar meri khushiya cheenne aayi thi,

woqt gujrta gaya umer gujarti gyi uski yaad me,
woh farebo ki kitaab yuh neende churane aayi thi,

fasa hu apne hi uljhe huye sawaalo ke bich mein,
woh mujhe karke tabah or kiya mangne aayi thi,

zindagi ke sabhi dastoor ek pal mein badl gaye,
woh mere dil se nikal kar dhadkan lene aayi thi,
