Zindagi mein aik waqt aisa bhi aata he
Aadmi sub jeet kar bhi haar jaata he.

Tiflagi mein aansuOan se sab hee rotay hein
Per jub aata he burhaapa khoon rulaata he!

Aik Toofaan-e-Bala  mere muqaabil he
Her Qadam per do qadam peechay lay jaata he!

Neelgoon aankhein hein unkee ya samandar he?
In mein jo bhi utra forun doob jaata he.

Kookti he shaakh-e-peepal per koi koel
Hook see uthtee he dil hachkolay khaata he.

Jashn-e-may he khul ke peenay de mujhe waa-iz
maykada masjid nahi ke too uthata he.

Kis kee aamad he dur-o-diwaar sajtay hein?
Koan aata he ke ye dil muskuraata he!

beqaraari ka bhi apna husn hota he
dharkaney dil tez chehra tamtamaata he!

Initizaar-e-yaar mein betha hoon shab bhar se
Na woh aatay hein ne dil ko chain aata he.

gardish-e-doraa'n ka koi toe sabab ho ga?
Ghoomta he charkh ya hum ko ghumaata he?

dil ye kehta he ke keh day baat woh un say
Jis ko kehnay se too aksar hichkichata he!

Choreeay mazhur lab-o-rukhsaar ke batein
Kon sunta he yehaan kis ko sunaata he!
