Paas aatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!
Geet gaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai sadaa!!

Deykh khiltey huye gunchoun ko, khairmaqdam  mein:
Muskuraatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Suroor-e-wasl-e-noujawaan sey, bin piye, yaa Rab!
Dagmagaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Haar kar minnateyn kartaa hun! Jeet kar bhee woh,
Taish khaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Door hat, deykhtey huye jawoun mein jaaney kyaa:
Paas aatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Aankh sey aankh milaatey hi shafaq hotey hain:
Lout jaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Eid key din bhi, galey mil na luun, bachtey hain woh;
Sakpakaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Raat taareek ho, pur noor sitaaroun jaisey,
Jhilmilaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Ghoortaa deykh leyn mujhey, to, na jaaney kyaa-kyaa
Budbudaatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!

Kabhee nigaah mein bhartey hain, 'abd', chupkey sey;
Phir sataatey hain: tah-e-dil mein utartee hai adaa!
