A Quick Philosophy of Marriage...

"Marriage and love are two separate entities. In order to maintain the commitment known as marriage, a certain amount of a certain type of love must be present.

When you marry, you are in a bonded spiritual partnership which must be respected as much as possible; treated with as much respect as the respect you show to your bonds of blood. There is no room for selfish disrespect. If this occurs, you weaken the bond like a rope being frayed until it breaks. On the other end of this view is the need for forgiveness. Those whom you love, being human, will make mistakes. Before marriage, both parties must have an understanding of the level of forgiveness their partnership will allow as well as an understanding of how that level can fluctuate. Marriage is not a light promise, for their should never be any such thing. It is the meaning of promise to the soul, which should be respected and cherished as dearly as daylight."
